Mr. Sulzer attended the Tulane University College of Arts
and Sciences in New Orleans, Louisiana. Based upon academic
performance, he was admitted to the Tulane School of Law
under the Dual Degree Program, earning a Bachelor of Arts
(cum laude) in History in 1989 and a Juris Doctor degree
in 1991. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Sulzer
entered into a solo general civil practice in Mandeville,
Louisiana. Practice areas included general civil litigation,
corporate, business and consumer law, as well family law.
Mr. Sulzer subsequently joined an insurance defense firm
in Metairie, Louisiana, initially focusing on medical malpractice
defense. Mr. Sulzer’s practice broadened to include
occupational illness litigation, involving representation
of executive officers, product manufacturers, safety equipment
suppliers and premise defendants. On February 1, 2000, Mr.
Sulzer co-founded the law firm of Sulzer & Williams,
LLC.
Although well versed in a wide variety of practice areas,
Mr. Sulzer continues to devote the majority of his time
to the field of complex, multi-party litigation. Many of
these cases involve occupational illness claims, including
claims arising from alleged exposure to asbestos, silica
and lead paint. Mr. Sulzer has served as defense liaison
counsel in a number of cases, and has also acted as national
coordinating counsel on behalf of various clients. Mr. Sulzer
is an active member of the Defense Research Institute, the
Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the Litigation
Section of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State
Bar Association, and is a lifetime appointee to the National
Registry of Who’s Who.
